CUT is a company that prides itself on its innovative approach to sourcing local wood, which allows them to gain access to high-quality, natural edge hardwood that possesses unparalleled unique qualities and characteristics. Their approach not only provides them with exceptional materials but also enables them to prevent thousands of pounds of hardwood from ending up in landfills or wasting away on woodlots every year. With over 30,000 pounds of hardwood salvaged to date, CUT is proud to have made a significant positive environmental impact.
Jake, the owner of CUT, always knew he wanted to become a business owner. During his final year at university, he had the opportunity to run a small business as part of a school project, which sparked his interest in entrepreneurship even further. The woodworking business he operated from his Dad's workshop exceeded expectations, making multiple sales and confirming his passion for business ownership. This led him to start CUT, specializing in high-quality, handmade tables of all shapes and sizes, using a combination of traditional and modern woodworking techniques to create unique, handcrafted products designed with attention and care for every last detail.
Now, CUT is an organization known for its positive environmental impact and quality handmade products, priding themselves on their ability to divert thousands of pounds of hardwood from landfills and providing customers with exceptional, one-of-a-kind pieces built to last a lifetime.

Tradition runs deep in our blood, our brand, and most importantly, our products. Everything is crafted using traditional techniques that have been passed down from generations of woodworkers.
This business started with a love of using reclaimed wood to create something new, and we have every intention of keeping it that way. Reclaimed wood is not only the most sustainable option, we believe its unique qualities and characteristics simply can’t be matched. The wood we use was initially set to be firewood. Hence our tagline: Art. Not Ash.
Our products are made to last a lifetime. We go above and beyond everywhere we can, never skipping steps, to ensure the longevity and quality of our pieces. Every piece is made to preserve and showcase the natural beauty of our wood slabs.
Our lifetime warranty is a strong nod to the quality we offer.
We carry out operations in beautiful Nova Scotia. Most of the wood we use has been sourced from this province and we always aim to buy local when outsourcing. Improving the local community through employment and economic reinvestment is very important to us.
Family is at the heart of our values because it is the very reason this business started. We all bring our own expertise and passion to the table, enabling CUT to continue handcrafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind products.
